About Us

Hi, I’m Ken McFarland—founder of Page One Communications. You’ll notice that on this website, I speak in the “first person plural”—using “we” or “us” instead of “I.” It’s true that I complete many Page One projects personally. But on many complex projects, I rely on a team of award-winning designers, world-class editors, and highly creative writers.

Here’s a brief summary of my qualifications—and some of the positions I’ve held:

  • Vice President for Editorial (editor-in-chief) at Pacific Press
  • Associate Editor, SIGNS OF THE TIMES Magazine
  • Assistant Editor, INSIGHT Magazine
  • Author: 17 published books
  • Writer: More than 100 published magazine articles
  • Author/Editor/Designer of Railway to the Moon, Loma Linda University and Medical Center centennial history
  • Editor/Page layout: Thirsty Elephant, Paradise Valley Hospital 90th anniversary history
  • Scriptwriter for It Is Written television
  • Six years as an editor at a leading healthcare publisher
  • U.S. Senate campaign marketing materials (Idaho candidate)
  • Selected writing credits: San Francisco Chronicle, Seattle Times, U.S. Congressional Record
